Zhang Yingchun, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and vice governor of Hunan Province, met in Changsha with Samuel Kawale, agriculture minister of Malawi, and Allan Joseph Chintedza, Malawian ambassador to China, on March 9, 2023.
Vice Governor Zhang welcomed the Malawian guests. She mentioned that, in recent years, Hunan Province as an agricultural powerhouse has been comprehensively deepening reform and opening up, and realized rapid development in economy and society. At current stage, Hunan is striving to carry forward positioning, missions, and tasks of the "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" Strategy, and making all-out efforts to promote the cooperation with Africa to a new height. The exchanges and cooperation between Hunan and Malawi have been deepened constantly, with a good foundation in agricultural collaboration. Meanwhile, Hunan and Malawi share complementary economy and resources that could lead to a huge potential for cooperation. She hoped that the two sides will expand and deepen bilateral exchanges and cooperation, to achieve more fruitful results.
Minister Samuel Kawale appreciated Hunan's efforts in promoting Malawi-Hunan collaboration. Malawi and Hunan Province have broad prospects in agricultural and education cooperation, he said. He expected learning from Hunan's advanced technologies and valuable experiences in economic and social development, and pushing forward the bilateral friendship continuously.
