The opening ceremony of the 7th China (Wangcheng) Qianlong Lake Kite Tourism Festival was held in the Qianlong Lake Eco-tourism Resort, Changsha on March 4. The event aims to promote kite culture, arouse the public's enthusiasm for national fitness, and call on people to go spring outing and get close to nature. An azalea flower exhibition kicked off here simultaneously.
During the kite festival, which will run through April 5, the Qianlong Lake Eco-tourism Resort will organize various activities including traditional kite-making technique teaching, a display of kite culture, kite-flying shows, and kite-related fun games. This will enable tourists to better experience and understand kite culture while having fun. A series of special activities will also take place during the festival, including treasure hunting on the beach and camping under the starry sky. In addition, tens of thousands of fine azalea flowers from home and abroad are on display at several exhibition halls in the resort, presenting a feast of spring flowers to tourists.
This kite festival was initiated by the Qianlong Lake Eco-tourism Resort in 2014. This year, the resort leverages Wangcheng District's excellent rural tourism and all-for-one tourism resources to hold the festival and will provide tourists with good venues for spring outings, flower tours and camping.
