On March 2, more than 50 doctoral talents and young makers from Hong Kong and Macao gathered at the Yuelu Scientific and Innovation Platform in Changsha for a matchmaking meeting with representatives of Changsha's industrial parks, enterprises and innovation research institutes.
The meeting marked the opening of an event titled "Strengthening the Provincial Capital, Introducing Projects and Gathering Talents -- Doctoral Talents and Young Makers from Hong Kong and Macao Visit Changsha". The event was hosted by the Changsha Municipal People's Government. During the 3-day event, activities such as the awarding ceremony of an innovation and entrepreneurship competition and visits to enterprises in industrial parks will be hosted.
This is the first time in 3 years that Changsha has welcomed a delegation of talents from Hong Kong and Macao, and also Changsha's first technology and talent exchange activity after the Chinese mainland fully resumed normal travel with Hong Kong.
At the matchmaking meeting, 24 employing units in Changsha reached employment intentions with 48 Hong Kong and Macao doctoral talents. The City University of Hong Kong Shenzhen Research Institute, the Changsha Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, the Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone, the Ningxiang High-tech Industrial Development Zone, and the Changsha Information Industrial Park signed a letter of intent on cooperation in the transfer of doctoral talents. They will jointly formulate a cultivation and transfer plan for doctoral talents in science and engineering.
In recent years, Changsha has carried out extensive innovation cooperation with universities and research institutes in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. In particular, since the establishment of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Sci-tech Innovation Industrial Park in the Yuelu Mountain University Science and Technology Town, Changsha has quickly introduced the City University of Hong Kong to establish an innovation and technology center in Changsha. In addition, it has set up a remote incubator in Shenzhen, with more than 30 projects incubated. High-quality sci-tech innovation projects such as Cellomics and Doit Technology have already settled in Changsha.
At the matchmaking conference, the Hunan Yuelu Mountain University Science and Technology Town Entrepreneurship Service Co., Ltd. signed letters of intent on the settlement of several projects.
