Li Dianxun, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and executive vice governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province, met in Changsha with Jean-Yves Roux, consul general of France in Wuhan, and his entourage on February 27, 2023.

Li welcomed the guests and briefed them on Hunan Province. He introduced that Hunan connects Eastern and Western parts of China and the Northern and Southern regions. It has great market potential, rich scientific and educational resources, a sound industrial foundation, and an advantageous geographical location,making it an internal part of China's regional economic landscape.

Hunan and France share a good cooperation foundation with profound partnership prospects. He expected that both sides would increase their personnel exchanges and project negotiations, while also engaging in pragmatic collaborations in science and technology, education, economics, trade, investment, culture, tourism, agriculture, environmental protection, and other fields. This would add impetus to the rapid economic development of both sides and the improvement of people's livelihood. We warmly welcome French companies to come to Hunan for investment and development, and French people to travel and enjoy vacation here, he added.

Jean-Yves Roux thanked Hunan for its active efforts in promoting mutual cooperation, and hoped to speed up the resumption of personnel exchanges in order to achieve more fruitful cooperation results in the fields of science, education, economics, trade, and culture.
