President Xi Jinping stressed the importance of expanding high-standard opening up and deeply involving the country in the global industrial division of labor and cooperation. He made the remarks while addressing the opening of a study session on the spirit of the report to the 20th CPC National Congress at the Party School of the CPC Central Committee (National Academy of Governance).
Last year, the total value of Hunan's foreign trade reached 705.82 billion CNY, breaking into the "100-Bln-USD Club" for the first time. This year, Hunan will continue to make efforts in three aspects: exploring the international market, developing new business forms and formats in foreign trade, and contributing to supporting platforms and carriers, to promote the expansion and upgrading of foreign trade and reach a new level of 1-Tln-USD foreign trade value.
The international logistics channels and freight assembly centers have propelled the inland province of Hunan to the forefront of opening up. Cargos from all over China, after passing the one-stop services such as less than container load (LCL) and customs clearance at the LCL Container Base of Zhongnan International Land Port, will be transported to the Changsha North Railway Station, and delivered to Germany and Russia by the China-Europe Express trains. In this January, there were 90 containers worth 10 million USD delivered at the Full Container Load (FCL) Center.
The Changsha Huanghua International Airport has resumed 5 cargo flights. It now operates 11 international routes, including the newly-opened international passenger flights. There are about 20 international flights operated weekly. As of February 15, the airport logistics company had handled the export of 150,000 parcels of international goods, totaling 2,951 tons. The airport will focus on providing secure flights within the 4-hour economic circle and the African routes according to the enterprises' demands, to help their products "go global" smoothly.
In this January, Hunan exported about 816 million CNY of goods through market procurement trade, an increase of 24.96% year on year. The Hunan Market Procurement and Cross-border E-commerce New Model Industrial Park is also stepping up construction, with more than 50 foreign trade companies set to settle down.
The Changsha Customs will explore an "overseas warehouses + market procurement" mode, encouraging enterprises to set up overseas warehouses and supporting combination of market procurement with the preferential measures of the Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone, to promote the development of market procurement trade.
In 2023, Hunan will also open a special service window for entry and exit of business activities, and offer risk compensation fund for market procurement and trade, to further assist foreign trade enterprises in exploring the international market and build Hunan into a strong trade powerhouse.
