Governor Mao and his entourage visited the business department of the Bank of Hunan Headquarters after the unveiling ceremony, to learn more about the bank's operation. He then presided over a symposium and congratulated the bank on its official inauguration. He said that Huarong Xiangjiang Bank, the predecessor of the Bank of Hunan, has been established for more than 10 years and has made important contributions to the economic and social development of Hunan Province.

He noted that the opening of the Bank of Hunan marked that Hunan's bank development has stood at a new historical starting point and the Hunan financial force has a new backbone. He expected the Bank of Hunan to transform the ardent expectations and trust of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Hunan Province into responsibility and motivation, and take the name change as a chance to be reborn again.

It was necessary to "follow the overall requirement, set a development goal, and take actions from five specific aspects"; continue to increase product innovation; optimize financing models; improve financing quality and efficiency; stimulate the momentum of real economic development; and make new contributions to the high-quality development of Hunan's economy and society, he added.
