A special investment promotion symposium on the Return of Hunan Entrepreneurs and Entrepreneurship in Hunan of the China (Hunan) Pilot Free Trade Zone Changsha Area Yuhua District Block (hereafter referred to as "Yuhua District Block") was held in Guangzhou on February 14.
Eight enterprises, including a Hunan-based import and export company and the Guangzhou Endurance Membrane Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., signed contracts to settle in Yuhua District Block. The foreign trade value is expected to exceed 22 billion yuan within 3 years.
More than 80% of their business is concentrated in the African market. Li Hongmei, general manager of the Guangzhou Endurance Membrane Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., introduced that in recent years, China's second-hand mobile phones, mobile phone membranes and other 3C electronic products are highly sought after in the African market. Last year, the company's transaction volume in the African market exceeded 50 million yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 30%. "Yuhua District Block enjoys such platforms as the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo and the Gaoqiao Grand Market, a marketplace approved to pilot the mode of market procurement trade. We are full of confidence to expand the African market here," Li Hongmei said.
Yuhua District Block also signed strategic cooperation agreements with four chambers of commerce, including the Tanzania Association of Industry and Agriculture (China) and the Africa-China Cooperation Association for Development, to establish a long-term cooperation mechanism. "We look forward to joining hands with Yuhua District to promote bilateral trade and technology exchanges and increase the added value of Tanzanian products," said Tanzania's chief representative to China John Rwehumbiza.
At the symposium, Yuhua District Block promoted the advantages of four major platforms in its Gaoqiao Grand Market area, including the Permanent Pavilion of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, the China-Africa Economic and Trade Digital Industrial Park, the Hunan "Market Procurement + Cross-border E-commerce" New Mode Industrial Park, and the China-Africa Economic and Trade Headquarters Base. It specially introduced the Changsha High-speed Rail New Town area, which will build five industrial clusters, namely, an international high-end business cluster, a digital valley along the Liuyang River, an international high-end medical service area, an eco-friendly residential area for international talents, and a leisure area integrating high-end healthcare and international cultural tourism on Tanyang Isle.
A representative of Hunan entrepreneurs returning to Hunan said, "I left Hunan for 25 years. By chance, I learned that the Yuhua District Block is positioned as a core area of the Pilot Zone for In-depth China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation, with abundant trade resources. I also want to do something for the development of my hometown."
Yuhua District Block has always adhered to conducting trials first on institutional innovation, platform innovation, and trade mode innovation. With its unique advantages, such as more convenient process, lower cost, smoother logistics and stronger distribution ability, Yuhua District Block has showed a good trend of enterprise agglomeration development. In 2022, two new national platforms, namely the Import Trade Promotion and Innovation Demonstration Zone and the China-Africa Technical Measures to Trade Research and Evaluation Base (Changsha), were launched in Yuhua District. Yuhua District Block's trade with Africa grew by 263.64% year on year, recording a massive surge.
The Guangdong Liaison Station of Hunan Entrepreneurs of Yuhua District and the Guangdong International Purchaser Liaison Station of the Yuhua District Block Management Committee were inaugurated in Guangzhou that day.
