The 2023 China Nanxian County – Luowen Sea of Flowers Marathon will kick off at 7:30 am on March 12 at the Dongting Heart Square in Nanxian County, Yiyang. It is scheduled to have about 3,000 participators. Application for participation is now open to the public. 

The marathon is hosted by the Hunan Athletics Management Center, the Yiyang Municipal Culture, Tourism, Radio and Television, and Sports Bureau, and the Nanxian County government. It will have three events – full marathon (500 participators), half-marathon (1,200 participators), and 5-km-long marathon (1,300 participators). 

The canola flowers in Luowen Village will enter full-blossom period in March. This Marathon combines picturesque scenery and fitness exercise to enable the participators to accomplish the race in the most beautiful sea of flowers. Participators will start off from the Dongting Heart Square, and successively run through Luowen Village – Hunan's first artistic graffiti village, the sea of canola flowers, and Sanxian Lake Reservoir, appreciating splendid spring sceneries while enjoying racing.

Application for participation can be made via the WeChat public account of the Hunan Athletics Association until February 26, 2023.
