Lantern Festival Celebrations Across Changsha

February 5 marks the Lantern Festival this year. Many scenic areas in Changsha have launched various activities including lantern shows, riddle guessing and temple fairs to greet this traditional festival. Some have introduced preferential measures such as presenting free admission tickets.

Window on the World
To Celebrate the Lantern Festival, the Window on the World has prepared four themed lantern arrangements. They are:
-- An array of rabbit-themed lanterns. Plenty of slips with riddles on them are hung under these lanterns. 
-- An array of lucky bag-shaped lanterns. A total of 1,000 lucky bag-shaped lanterns and 660 red lanterns complement each other.
-- An array of light strips with poems written on them.
-- An array of lanterns made out of bamboo. Tourists can float river lanterns to pray for a happy and lucky year.


Besides, there are fireworks shows, a tea party, a temple fair, performances and other activities.


The first Lantern Festival-themed cultural tourism festival of the Songya Lake International Science Town.


Songya Lake National Wetland Park
The first Lantern Festival-themed cultural tourism festival of the Songya Lake International Science Town is held at the Songya Lake National Wetland Park from February 1 to 7. There are five themed areas for appreciation, intelligence, fun, shopping and amusement. Tourists can view a dazzling array of lanterns, guess lantern riddles, appreciate intangible cultural heritage, taste delicious food, and experience featured projects.

Shiyan Lake Scenic Area
From February 2 to 5, tourists can post an article on WeChat Moments as required to win a free ticket for admission, folklore performances, and projects including the Screaming Fountain.

The Shiyan Lake Scenic Area has prepared various themed activities to help tourists spend a traditional and romantic Lantern Festival. Tourists can watch dragon and lion dances and acrobatics, visit a temple fair, eat delicious snacks, and enjoy lanterns and fireworks.


HB (Changsha) Film Town
As of 18:00 on February 3, those who leave a message on a WeChat article as required and rank among the top 10 with the most likes can get an all-day ticket free of charge. The free ticket can be used from February 4 to 5.

A furry gathering will be held at the town on February 4 and 5. There will be dance parades, live action role-play murder mystery games, or jubensha in Chinese, and over 20 wonderful performances. In addition, such activities as lantern shows, New Year picture making, interactions with rabbits and lantern riddle guessing will also be available.
