Hunan Province had seen pre-holiday travel peaks of trips going home, and has braced for a post-holiday surge of passengers returning to work. Special trains and buses catering to migrant workers have been arranged around the province to help them return to work safely and conveniently.
Xinhua County of Loudi City has 430,000 migrant workers working outside Hunan Province. On January 27, the sixth day of the Chinese New Year and also the last day of the Spring Festival holiday, a chartered sleeper train from Xinhua County to Shenzhen sent 1,038 migrant workers to their working places safely. This was Hunan's first chartered train for migrant workers after the Spring Festival this year.
In Guidong County, Chenzhou, chartered buses are arranged at the Guidong County Bus Station and the Guidong Shatian Bus Station. Migrant workers from all of the county's 11 towns and townships can take free rides to Dongguan and Shenzhen. According to the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Guidong County, the chartered bus service will last until February 6, and is estimated to transport more than 2,000 migrant workers to Dongguan and Shenzhen.
According to the human resources and railway authority of Hunan Province, in the coming week, more chartered trains and buses will be arranged around the province, including a chartered high-speed train departing from Longhui County, Shaoyang.
