The Hunan Department of Commerce and the Hunan Department of Finance jointly issued a notice on boosting the airports in Hunan Province to resume operation of international passenger air routes.
According to the notice, tiered incentives would be provided for the airlines for launching or resuming operation of international passenger air routes at Changsha or Zhangjiajie airports before May 1, and for the completion of 15 and 52 flights within this year. The maximum number of the air routes involved in the incentives will be 25. Beyond that, incentive would be also given to the international passenger planes which use the belly to transport cargoes.
Hunan is China's first province rolling out the special measures to carry out the national policy on removing restrictions on international flights from January 8. This will help Changsha and Zhangjiajie airports restore their international airline network, continuously construct the "four-hour air economic circle", and facilitate international associations and investment attraction.
The incentives consist of three parts, respectively for air route launching, operation, and air cargo transport in the belly. These short-term incentives will be combined with Hunan's long-term supportive measures for existing air routes, to facilitate cost estimation and route planning for airlines.
The measures have been taken effect since January 1. So far, the flights to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi, and Hong Kong had been resumed, and those to Singapore, Chiengmai, and Nha Trang are ready for operation.
