Zhang Qingwei, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, inspected the BYD Changsha Branch for corporation operation, production, marketing, and environmental protection management, and supervised the work of safe production on Jan. 10. He stressed thoroughly studying and carrying out the spirits of the 20th CPC National Congress and President Xi Jinping's important speeches, directives, and instructions on Hunan Province; strengthening development confidence and enhancing independent innovation; and, fully supporting the leading enterprises to grow stronger, better, and larger, to build new energy automobile industry into a pillar one which plays a leading role in high-quality development.

Provincial leaders Li Dianxun, Wu Guiying, and Xie Weijiang attended the inspection tour.

The BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd. established its Changsha Branch at the Yuhua Economic Development Zone in 2009. The output value of the branch reached 67.2 billion CNY last year, making a year-on-year increase of 55%. It is Hunan's first auto enterprise with more than 60 billion CNY in annual output.

Secretary Zhang listened to the report on production, operation, sci-tech innovation, and employment benefits of the company, and experienced intelligent services such as man-machine interaction on a new auto model. He called for coordinating development and security, completing the industrial chain, and enhancing research and development innovation, to improve safety and endurance ability of the products and satisfy various needs of customers. 

He learned about the environmental protection improvement of the automobile production, stamping, and coating lines for new energy vehicles, and asked the company to intensify environmental protection management in accordance with related national standards, and work hard to lower energy consumption and enhance production efficiency.

He also observed the whole course of water-based paint coating at the coating workshop, and underlined strengthening awareness of fire safety and elevating safe production and management level.

Secretary Zhang expressed gratitude to BYD staff for contributing to Hunan's high-quality development of manufacturing and stabilizing employment and economic growth. He pointed out that, the new energy automobile industry is an emerging industry of strategic importance. The BYD Changsha Branch as one of BYD's major production bases should leverage Hunan's development advantages to increase input and capacity, and focus on industrial chains reinforcement, extension and upgrading, to boost development of the Changsha branch.
