In 2022, faced with many challenges such as downward economic pressure, multiple rounds of epidemic outbreaks, high temperatures and dry weather, Changsha resolutely followed the requirements of "controlling the epidemic, stabilizing the economy and ensuring safe development", and vigorously implemented the Strategy of "Strengthening the Provincial Capital". As a result, fruitful and remarkable results have been achieved in various tasks such as economic growth, the building of "Three Hubs", urban and rural construction, and the improvement of people's livelihood.

It has become the second city in the world with more than 5 of the world's top 50 construction machinery manufacturers.

With scientific and technological innovation as its strategic support, Changsha has made breakthroughs in over 20 "bottleneck" technologies and more than 200 key core technologies. Its innovation capability has ranked eighth among national innovative cities for three consecutive years.

With reform and opening-up as a key move, Changsha has actively optimized the management system of the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area and Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone Changsha Area. The number of listed enterprises in Changsha has reached 84, ranking first in central China. The city's foreign trade growth rate ranked first among cities in the 1-trillion-yuan GDP club, and its actual use of foreign capital and actual outbound investment ranked first among provincial capitals in central China.
