The industrial park supporting project of the Yueyang refining-petrochemical integration project started construction on December 26, 2022. It marked that Hunan took another solid step in building the core base of the 1-trillion-yuan modern petrochemical industry.

The Yueyang refining and chemical integration project was listed by the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Hunan Province as the top of ten provincial industrial projects in 2023. The newly-started supporting project includes three parts: site leveling, supporting roads, and pipeline relocation. Among them, the site leveling engineering has a total investment of 1.48 billion yuan, with the largest area of spoil ground in Hunan so far. It is planned to be completed and handed over on August 31 next year.

The substation of the caprolactam industrial chain relocation and upgrading project was also successfully powered on the same day, marking initial completion of the power system. The caprolactam project is a national demonstration project for the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, a key demonstration project for relocation and transformation of hazardous chemical production enterprises in densely populated urban areas, and one of the top ten provincial industrial projects in 2022. It was planned to be put into operation in the second quarter of 2023.
