A Hunan-Guangzhou-Africa rail-sea intermodal freight train carrying containers of Hunan-made agricultural equipment departed from Loudi East Station at 11 am on December 26. The train would leave China via Nansha Port in Guangzhou City and is expected to arrive in Thailand, Indonesia, and Cambodia after ten days.
In recent years, Loudi has made efforts to develop itself into a hub of reform and opening up in the inland region and seize the opportunities brought by the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) to pursue a higher-level open economy. The city has expanded its opening-up by establishing the Loudi Customs. In addition, the city has taken the Hunan Agricultural Machinery, Mining Machinery, and Electronic Ceramic Products Expo (Hunan Expo) as an essential bridge for Chinese and foreign businessmen to deepen economic and trade negotiations and stabilize foreign investment and foreign trade. So far, Loudi has established economic and trade ties with more than 130 countries and regions.
This year Loudi has accelerated the pace of opening up, with 50 new enterprises registered by returned Hunan entrepreneurs and 112 key investment promotion projects signed. Of the total, there are ten projects invested by "Fortune Global 500", "Chinese Top 500", and "Chinese Private Top 500" enterprises, with a total investment of 18.9 billion yuan. As a result, Loudi sees substantial growth in domestic investment, paid-in foreign investment, and foreign trade.
