A meeting on promoting the construction of the Industrial Internet Innovation and Development Demonstration Zone of Hunan Province was held in Changsha on December 20. The construction plan for the zone was explained at the meeting.

Hunan Province defines industrial Internet as a priority industrial cluster. In accordance with the deployment of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the Hunan Provincial People's Government, Hunan will take the initiative and make all-out efforts to push forward the construction of the zone. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology replied to the provincial government this June to support Hunan to build a demonstration zone of industrial Internet innovation and development, and approve Hunan's related construction plan.

"Hunan is the sixth region to construct such demonstration zone, after those in the Yangtze River Delta, Shandong Province, Guangdong Province, Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone, and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. It was good news for Hunan's industrial Internet innovation and development," said Xiong Chen, chief economic manager of the Hunan Department of Industry and Information Technology.

The construction plan sets major goals including:
- By 2025, the industrial Internet network, platform, and safety and ecology system will be established in an all-round way, and the integrated development of new-generation information technologies and manufacturing will achieve notable results;
- More than 100 industrial Internet platforms at the provincial level will be built, and three to five domestically influential platforms will be cultivated;
- More than 10,000 enterprises will be added to cloud service users, and over 5,000 enterprises will use cloud platforms every year;
- More than 50,000 industrial APPs will be developed;
- More than 2,000 certificated enterprises in integrated management of manufacturing informatization and industrialization will be added; and,
- 20 industrial Internet demonstration bases at the provincial level will be established.

Five major tasks were listed: improving infrastructure construction; deepening industrial application in an integrated way; enhancing technological innovation capacity; cultivating and strengthening industrial ecology; and, consolidating safety guarantee.

Beyond that, 20 industrial Internet platforms at the provincial level were granted with plaques at the meeting.
