An international freight train carrying 20 TEUs of 400 tons of grain and oil products departed from Huaihua International Land Port at 3 pm on December 22. The goods, including Hunan dry rice noodles and Southeast Asian-style rice noodles with the flavors of Tom Yam Gong soup and sour soup, were shipped via the port to the ASEAN market for the first time.

The rice noodles, produced by a Huaihua-based food processing company, will reach Vientiane after four days via the China-Laos Railway and arrive in Bangkok after eight days via the "Huaihua-Beibu Gulf-Bangkok Port" rail-sea combined transport service. The rice noodles will be distributed to Chinese supermarkets, restaurants, and farmers' markets across Laos and Thailand.

The Huaihuia International Land Port Development Co., Ltd. has taken various measures to ensure the shipment of the goods and mobilize enterprises to participate in the construction of the new western land-sea corridor. The company arranged a special train, optimized the freight route, and strengthened cooperation with the railway and port authorities as well as shipping companies. These efforts would help reduce logistics costs, improve transport efficiency, and give impetus to enterprises to constantly expand foreign trade.

Enterprises only need to submit online the "Application Form for the Filing of Export Food Production Enterprises", said Huaihua Customs, adding that the filing formalities can be handled on the spot. So far, 25 enterprises in Huaihua have completed the filing processes.

The launching of the rice noodle train has greatly enhanced the confidence of Huaihua grain and oil enterprises in adhering to "going global" and "bringing in", and promoted in-depth integration of grain trade between Hunan and ASEAN and between Hunan and places along the new western land-sea corridor.
