Hunan Economic and Trade Delegation Visits Mozambique

An economic and trade delegation of Hunan Province completed its inspection and exchange activities in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique on December 13, local time. A list of projects to promote cooperation, a trade list of characteristic products and a list of invited exhibitors were made.

During their stay in Mozambique, the delegation visited the Mozambique Chamber of Commerce, the Mozambique Investment and Export Promotion Agency (APIEX), and the Mozambique Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy, inspected the Central Business District (CBD) project undertaken by China Construction Fifth Engineering Division Corp., Ltd. and the 400 kV transmission line project of Hengyang TBEA, and visited three large and medium-sized supermarkets and featured commodity markets. During the period, the delegation held a promotion meeting and an enterprise symposium in Mozambique to promote the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo and the Pilot Zone for In-depth China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation.

Nuno Maposse, assistant director of APIEX, who attended the first China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, said that APIEX will provide one-stop services as well as tax revenue and other preferential policies for Chinese enterprises investing in Mozambique. The APIEX and the delegation exchanged views on the fields including agriculture, mining and exhibition. They talked about in-depth preferential policies and cooperation feasibility on the agricultural development project of the Mocuba Industrial Free Zone, the Chimoio textile factory project, and the investment, construction, and operation project of the convention and exhibition center.

The Mozambique Chamber of Commerce invited the delegation to attend a face-to-face meeting. A total of 20 enterprise representatives from both sides talked in detail about project cooperation and trade exchanges.
