The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently announced 170 national demonstration bases for entrepreneurship and innovation of small and micro firms. Hunan had 4 new names on the list, making the total number to 14.
The four shortlisted bases are the Central South University Science Park (R&D) Headquarters, China Electronics Corporation (CEC) Changsha Software Park, Tianyi Science and Technology Town Independent Entrepreneurship Park, and Chinese Academy of Science & Technology Development (CASTD) Yiyang Smart Energy Incubation Base.
Among them, the CEC Changsha Software Park is a national-level software industrial base jointly built by CEC, Hunan Province, Changsha City, and Xiangjiang New Area. It has formed an industrial pattern dominated by independent computing industries and characterized by BeiDou Navigation, industrial internet, and mobile internet. Many well-known innovative enterprises such as Anker Innovations, AsiaInfo Technology, and BeiDou Research Institute have been introduced and settled down here. The Central South University Science Park passed the accreditation of the national university sci-tech park in 2021 and officially entered the "national team". A total of 585 science and technology enterprises have been incubated, 2,225 intellectual property rights transformed and cultivated, and 42 high-tech enterprises developed.
The title for the national demonstration base will be valid for 3 years. It will play a bridge role between government and small and micro-sized enterprises. It is necessary to do well in policy promotion and implementation for small and medium-sized enterprises, and assist them to benefit from the preferential policies. The bases provide strong support for the entrepreneurship and innovation of small and medium-sized enterprises, and help them develop into the ones featured with"profession, refinement, characteristics, and novelty".
