A preparatory work conference on the Third China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) was held in Changsha on December 2, 2022. It was learned that the 3rd CAETE will be held in Changsha between June 15 and 18, 2023.
Themed "Common Development for a Shared Future", the third session will invite 6 African countries as the guests of honor, and Shandong and Hubei as theme provinces. It is planned to arrange more than 30 activities and 1 exhibition in 5 categories such as major events, high-end forums, matchmaking and negotiations, special seminars, and supporting activities.
The main venue and the main exhibition hall will be located at the Changsha International Conference Center and the Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Center respectively. The sub-exhibition hall will be settled at the China-Africa Economic and Trade Promotion and Innovation Demonstration Park. Around 8,000 participants will join the session. The exhibition area will be about 80,000 square meters, with a comprehensive pavilion, a Chinese provincial, regional, and municipal pavilion, an African commodity pavilion, a Chinese enterprise and commodity pavilion, and an outdoor exhibition area. It will mainly display the achievements of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, African high-quality characteristic products, and China's production capacity of products suitable for African markets. The outdoor exhibition area will present engineering and agricultural machinery.
CAETE is an important platform for China and African countries to conduct economic and trade cooperation and relevant exchanges and dialogues. It is a biennial event co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China (MOFCOM) and the People's Government of Hunan Province. It is jointly undertaken by the Department of Commerce of Hunan Province, the Trade Development Bureau of MOFCOM, the Office of Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, the Hunan Sub-council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the People's Government of Changsha City.
