Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone Changsha Area Holds Conference to Present Achievements in Opening-up, Development

A high-level opening-up and high-quality development achievements presentation conference of the China (Hunan) Pilot Free Trade Zone Changsha Area was held on November 29. A signing ceremony for major projects was held simultaneously. Wu Guiying, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, delivered a speech and witnessed the signing ceremony. She underscored efforts to thoroughly study, publicize and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress; practise the new development philosophy; integrate into the new development paradigm; keep to the goal of "entering the top 10 free trade zones"; further enhance functions, optimize features and strengthen brands; build the China (Hunan) Pilot Free Trade Zone Changsha Area into a leading demonstration area for high-level opening-up, an important engine of high-quality development and a display window on modernization; and, stimulate new growth drivers and build demonstration zones to forge a hub of reform and opening-up in inland areas. Zheng Jianxin, deputy secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and mayor of Changsha, presided over the conference.

Zhu Guangyao, chief and Party secretary of the Changsha Customs, and Changsha municipal leaders including Peng Huasong, Liu Yongbing, Qiu Jixing and Kang Zhenlin, attended.

At the signing ceremony, Secretary Wu Guiying sincerely invited entrepreneurs to give support to free trade and invest in Changsha. Changsha will further integrate its advantageous resources, strengthen policy support, deepen collaborative innovation, and build a high-level characteristic pilot free trade zone with higher openness, better facilitation and stronger leadership.

Fifteen major projects worth 50.65 billion yuan were signed that day. The projects feature large investment volume and high dependence on foreign trade and cover key industries. The China (Hunan) Pilot Free Trade Zone Changsha Area Development Plan was released on site. The area's second batch of institutional innovation achievements were announced. The plaques of the (Changsha) China-Africa Technical Measures to Trade Research and Evaluation Base and the (Changsha) Plant Extract Products Technical Measures to Trade Research and Evaluation Base were conferred.
