The 2022 China-Africa Fruits Promotion Conference was held in Changsha on November 29th. Several purchase agreements and strategic cooperation agreements worth 70 million yuan were signed on-site.
The conference is one of the serial activities of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE), which is not in session this year. It is hosted by the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce and the China Fruit Marketing Association. The event aims to build an efficient, smooth and practical platform for information exchange and trade cooperation in the fruit industry between China and Africa.
At the conference, Kenya, South Africa, and other African countries briefed on the development of their fruit industry. They hoped to expand fruit exports to China and promote trade with China. Changsha Area of the China (Hunan) Pilot Free Trade Zone introduced the core area of the Pilot Zone for In-depth China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation and its advantages in the opening-up and policy support. Chinese enterprises made presentations on their business operation and released appropriate purchase demands. Lastly, agreements that were signed at the conference centred around the purchase of African tangerines, red grapefruits, and oranges.
The Fruit Trade Enterprise Alliance with Africa was established at the conference. It was initiated by the China Fruit Marketing Association, the Hunan Fruit Association, the Exhibition Center of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Promotion Council, and the Hunan Red Star Grand Market. The alliance and China's leading fruit enterprises will combine China's market advantage with African fruit resources to build a new platform for China-Africa trade cooperation.
