Three Hunan Cities Shortlisted for Top 100 Cities in Digital Economy

The China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID), an institution directly under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), recently released a research report on China's digital economy development in 2022.


Changsha City ranked 15th on the list. Hengyang and Changde were shortlisted as new names for the top 100 cities in the digital economy.

Based on the assessment of digital infrastructure, digital economy industry, digitalization management, and data value, CCID drew up a list of the top 100 cities in digital economy development. The list categorized the cities into first, second, third, and fourth-tier levels, and scientifically presented the progress and stage features of China's digital economy development.

Changsha City, ranking 15th nationwide, is at the first-tier level. With the increasing integration of digital and real economy, digital technologies will drive intelligent upgrades in production and service systems. Changsha, a city of intelligent manufacturing, is greeting promising development opportunities.


Hunan was the only province with more cities added to the annual list of the top 100 cities in the digital economy. Hengyang and Changde cities made the list, standing at the third-tier level.
