Zhang Qingwei, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, and Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province, met in Changsha with Hu Heping, secretary of the CPC Leadership Group and minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China (MCT) on the afternoon of November 17, 2022.

Secretary Zhang, on behalf of the provincial Party committee and government, welcomed the guests, and thanked MCT for its long-term strong support to Hunan Province.

He noted that in recent years, Hunan has implemented the spirits of President Xi Jinping's important exposition on culture and tourism work, and his speeches, directives, and instructions on Hunan Province. We have done well in culture and tourism work, strengthened integration of culture and tourism, expanded culture and tourism industries, made the brand of culture and tourism more influential, and enhanced reform, to promote the high-quality development of culture and tourism undertakings. The whole province is now thoroughly studying and implementing the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress; accelerating the building of a strong cultural powerhouse; and, making every effort to create a world-famous tourist destination. He expected MCT will, as always, care about and support the development of Hunan's culture and tourism industries, and assist in socialist new modern Hunan construction.

Minister Hu remarked that Hunan has profound historical and cultural heritage and rich tourism resources. MCT will further deepen cooperation and exchanges with Hunan in the fields of cultural heritage protection and inheritance, culture and tourism brand promotion, and culture and tourism integrated development, to jointly open new ground for advancing culture and tourism progress.
