The 2022 World Computing Conference is being held in Changha on November 4 and 5. On the evening of November 3, Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province, met with Wang Jiangping, vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). He and other guests specially came to Hunan to attend the conference.

Zeng Yi, president of the China Electronics Corporation; Chen Zhongyue, general manager of the China United Network Communications Group Co., Ltd.; Chen Fei, vice governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province; Lu Xicheng, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; and, Deng Qunce, secretary general of the People's Government of Hunan Province, were present.

Governor Mao welcomed the guests and briefed them on the economic and social development of Hunan Province. He remarked that Hunan would conscientiously implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress; fully carry forward the positioning, missions, and tasks of the "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" Strategy; give full play to the platform role of the World Computing Conference; and, strive to build itself into an internationally leading algorithm innovation center, an important gathering of the national computing industry, and an application demonstration area, so as to expand the height, breadth, and speed of the digital economy with computing infrastructure and algorithm.

He expected that MIIT would continue to increase its support for the high-quality development of Hunan's industry and information technology, and promote the resources pooling of computing infrastructure industry to Hunan; experts and scholars would give full play to their intellectual, academic, professional and other advantages, to further strengthen cooperation with Hunan in transformation of scientific and technological achievements, breakthroughs in core technologies in key fields, high-end talent exchanges, and think tank construction; and, entrepreneurs would further enhance arrangement of talents, funds, and projects in Hunan, share new opportunities for digital development, and create a better future for the computing infrastructure industry.

Vice Minister Wang believed that Hunan's computing infrastructure industry has foundation, technology, talents, and resources, with surging and strong development momentum. MIIT will thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and further strengthen communication and matchmaking with Hunan Province. We will offer key support in platform construction, industrial layout, and capital arrangements. Efforts would be made to strengthen the advanced computing industry, promote the advanced manufacturing, and cultivate the small and medium-sized enterprises featured with "profession, refinement, characteristics, and novelty", to contribute to Hunan's manufacturing powerhouse construction, he added.
