Since the second half of 2022, Hunan has experienced long-continued period of dry weather with little rainfall. The risk of forest fires has reached the highest level, and the situation of forest fire prevention and control is extremely serious and complex. Therefore, the Hunan provincial government issued the No. 311 Decree on Mountain Closures and Fire Restrictions. In accordance with the spirit of the decree, the Hunan Botanical Garden announced on November 1 that it would implement semi-closed management from that day to November 30. The decision was made based on the garden's actual situation and approved by the Yuhua district government.

During the period, the garden only opens its north, west and new east gates. Visitors are required to scan a fire prevention code, a venue code and a reservation code before entering the garden. It is forbidden to bring fire into the garden. Anti-epidemic regulations will be strictly followed. The opening hours are adjusted to 6:30-18:30.
