Hunan's consumption market saw steady revitalization with an array of consumption stimulus policies being implemented. The Hunan Statistics Bureau released data on October 25 that, in the first three quarters this year, Hunan's total retail sales of consumer goods exceeded 1.37 trillion CNY, a year-on-year increase of 3.1%, which was 1.6 percentage points higher than that of the first half. In September alone, the figure neared 165.85 billion CNY, up 6.2% year on year.

Between January and September, the sales of basic living goods maintained stable, and the demand for consumption upgrading rose rapidly. Among the wholesale and retail businesses over the designated size across Hunan Province, the new energy automobile sales grew by 150.3%, and the sales of sports and recreation goods up 14%.

Online sales kept booming. In the first three quarters, the online sales rose 12.2% over the same period of last year, which was 2.9 percentage points higher than that of the first half. The online sales of physical commodities increased by 15.3%.

Impacted by higher gasoline and diesel oil prices this year, the retail sales of petroleum and related products maintained a relatively rapid growth.
