The China Federation of Industrial Economics (CFIE) recently revealed the candidate list for the 7th China Grand Awards for Industry, including the China Grand Awards, the China Grand Awards of Recognition, and the China Grand Awards of Nomination. Hunan has four companies and projects on the list.

The China Grand Awards for Industry, hailed as "the Oscars" in the Chinese industrial sector, is the highest honor in the Chinese industrial sector set up with the approval of the State Council. It consists of three-level awards – the China Grand Awards, the China Grand Awards of Recognition, and the China Grand Awards of Nomination. CFIE, together with more than ten national industrial federations and associations, organized the selection and evaluation of the awards biannually.

The four candidate companies and projects in Hunan Province are:

- the China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Co. Ltd. won the China Grand Awards;

- the Sunward Intelligent Equipment Group won the China Grand Awards of Recognition;

- the project of the Lianyuan Iron & Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. on developing the steel for crane jibs to substitute the imported ones and production of the series products, won the China Grand Awards of Recognition; and,

- the Lens Technology Co., Ltd. won the China Grand Awards of Nomination.

This year, 19 companies and 19 projects won the China Grand Awards, 26 companies and 22 projects won the China Grand Awards of Recognition, and 17 companies and 20 projects won the China Grand Awards of Nomination.
