Hunan's First Cross-Border E-commerce New Retail Complex Begins Trial Operations

Hunan's first cross-border e-commerce new retail complex 'Your Mall' began trial operations on October 16th. According to reports, all the goods of international brands in the mall are supervised by the customs authority. Thanks to the mall, Hunan consumers can buy high-quality goods worldwide without going abroad, at a price nearly 30% lower than the domestic market. Moreover, they can get the goods in 15 minutes at best after scanning the code.

With a total area of 105,000 square meters, 'Your Mall' is located in the core area of the Airport Area of Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone Changsha Area (Airport Area for short), close to the Changsha Huanghua International Airport. Many brand stores, such as a pop-up shop of Hunan Friendship & Apollo Commercial's cross-border e-commerce platform tepin.hk, and Germany Zurbrüggen and Global Diamond stores, have opened for trial operation. The first ten stores in the mall sell over ten thousand popular imported goods from dozens of countries.

The new retail model of cross-border e-commerce adopts the business model of "offline display and selection, on-site ordering and real-time delivery in the area", following the supervision standard of the General Administration of Customs.

E-commerce enterprises will apply for a guarantee to have online-purchased bonded imported goods out of the bonded warehouse of Huanghua Comprehensive Bonded Zone through single window bonded display and display them in the new retail stores of the Import and Export Commodities Exhibition Center.

After purchasing goods in the stores, consumers will have their identity information checked and make the payment online. The data will then be immediately reported to the customs authority through the Changsha electronic port. After completing customs clearance procedures, the goods purchased will be delivered in real-time by uncrewed vehicles.

A new retail pick-up point for cross-border e-commerce goods is set up on the first floor of 'Your Mall'. After scanning the code, consumers can get the goods in 15 minutes at best.

The head of the Airport Area Management Committee introduced that the new retail model of cross-border e-commerce integrates the advantages of bonded display and cross-border e-commerce. It is an innovative move by the pilot free trade zone.

'Your Mall' will officially operate during the New Year's Day holiday in 2023. It is positioned to build a high-level consumption center in the pilot free trade zone featuring new cross-border e-commerce retails.
