Hunan Province has firmly given priority to promoting economic development. It strives to accelerate building a modern economic system, constantly strengthen the innovation capacity and competitiveness of economy, and break new ground in promoting high-quality development.

With the Huaihua International Land Port as a hub, and relying on the China-Laos and China-Vietnam railways and the new land-sea transit routes for the western region, Hunan has been promoting cooperation with the ASEAN countries and developing business to the China-Indochina Peninsula. China's largest tunnel boring machine (TBM), named "Jing Hua", was developed and manufactured at the First Industrial Park in Changsha of the China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Corporation Limited in September 2020. The machine has a diameter of 16.07 meters, making it the largest TBM designed in China. The photo shows the machine rolling off the production line.

Hunan has been consolidating the foundation of aerospace industry and boosting sci-tech innovation. As of April 2022, the Tianyi Research Institute in the Changsha High-tech Development Zone has accomplished 14 space missions, and sent 25 self-developed satellites into space. The photo shows the "Xiao Xiang 1" satellite independently developed by the Tianyi Research Institute.

The Zoomlion 3200T crawler crane, world's largest mobile crane, made a debut in July 2020. The photo shows the crane hoisting the dome of the Hualong One demonstration project at the Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant.

Hunan Province has built a full-fledged and technologically-advanced manufacturing base of rail transit industry. The photo shows a workshop of the CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd.

The equipment developed by the Sunward Intelligent Equipment Group, such as drilling rigs and truss boom crawler cranes, are used in a number of "super projects" in China. The photo shows a drilling rig working in the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge construction project.

Sany's concrete machinery have been exported to 110 countries and regions. The photo shows Sany's concrete placing booms working in the deep foundation pit of the "Shanghai Tower".

Hunan plays an active role in promoting agricultural cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. It undertook China's first government-level agricultural assistance program to Georgia – the Tbilisi vegetable greenhouse demonstration zone. Hunan is committed to building a regional distribution center of international air cargo transport, a regional hub of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), and a hub of Africa-oriented air passenger and cargo transport. A "four-hour aviation economic circle" is accelerated to be formed, connecting Changsha with the East Asian, Southeast Asian, and South Asian countries.
