The World Economic Forum (WEF) released a new list of 11 lighthouse factories in the global manufacturing sector on October 11. The No. 18 factory of Sany Heavy Industry in Changsha made the list. It is the second recognized lighthouse factory in the global heavy industry, after the pile machine factory in Beijing, which is also  subordinate to Sany Heavy Industry. It is also the second lighthouse factory in Changsha after Bosch Changsha, and the second lighthouse factory in Hunan.

Lighthouse factories, known as "the most advanced factories in the world", were jointly selected by the WEF and global market research firm McKinsey & Co. They are models of "digital manufacturing" and "Globalization 4.0" and are leaders in intelligent manufacturing and digitalization in today's global manufacturing sector.
