The Hunan Provincial People's Government held talks with the China Electronics Corporation (CEC) on September 28 afternoon.
Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Hunan governor, and Zeng Yi, president of CEC, attended and addressed the talks.

Governor Mao expressed gratitude to CEC's long-term support to Hunan Province, and introduced Hunan's economic and social development. He noted that, this year, Hunan has been implementing the positioning, missions, and tasks of the "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" Strategy. Hunan's economy presents a steady growth and forges ahead amid pressures. In the first half this year, the provincial GDP increased by 4.3%. Between January and August, the large-sized industrial enterprises, consumption, imports and exports, and investment respectively achieved growth rates of 7.3%, 2.7%, 21%, and 8%, all higher than the national average.
Hunan is taking all-out efforts in developing a national-level electronic information industrial cluster, with a goal of building it into a trillion-yuan industry in about 5 years. In the first 8 months this year, all of the 1,278 electronic information enterprises around Hunan made a total operating revenue of 248.848 billion yuan, up 25.2% over last year.
Governor Mao said that, Hunan is of strategic significance to China's electronic and cyberspace information industry. There are 8 enterprises in such field in Hunan Province, including the China Greatwall Technology Group Co., Ltd. and the Caihong Group Co., Ltd. He expected CEC to continue to leverage its advantages in technology, capital, project, and talents to support the Shaohong substrate glass project; further deepen bilateral cooperation in the aspects of computing and algorithm, BeiDou navigation, intelligent manufacturing and industrial internet, data management, and digital government; and, actively participate in building a national substrate glass base of southern China, and an influential base for advanced computing industry in Hunan Province. Hunan will constantly optimize the business environment, and give full support to CEC's development in Hunan, to work together for mutual benefits and win-win results.

President Zeng mentioned that, Hunan has a solid foundation, favorable business environment, and strong development momentum in electronic information industry. Hunan and CEC share good foundation and broad prospects for collaboration. CEC will further expand investment in Hunan Province, improve bilateral cooperation mechanism, strive to gain an upper hand in computing industry, participate in building "digital Hunan" in an in-depth manner, and assist Hunan in developing a trillion-yuan-level electronic information industry.
