Changsha held a press conference on the advancement of democracy and the rule of law on September 28. It is one of the "Changsha's Extraordinary Achievements over the Past Decade" press conference series. It introduced Changsha's achievements in building a peaceful Changsha and advancing democracy.

Over the past decade, Changsha has explored a comprehensive governance approach to lasting peace and stability. The city's law-based governance level has been continuously improved.

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Changsha has won the "Chang'an Cup", the nation's highest award for Peaceful China initiative, for three times. It has been rated as a national model city of law-based government construction. It has also been selected as the happiest city in China for 14 consecutive years.
