On September 23, a yield monitoring of the super rice high-yield and technology-breakthrough demonstration project was conducted at the Yuan Longping Super Rice Promotion and Demonstration Base in Leifeng Village, Yanggu'ao Town, Longhui County. Bai Lianyang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, secretary of the CPC Hunan Academy of Agricultural Sciences Committee, and head of the yield monitoring expert team, announced the results of the monitoring and shared the joy of harvest with farmers.

The demonstration area covers an area of 108 mu (7.2 ha.) and the rice breed is "Yongyou 1538". It was sown on April 20, transplanted on May 12, and matured on September 23. The area adopts the "nanny" method of unified breed, unified seed soaking and seedling raising, unified rice seedling transplanting, unified pest control, unified water and fertilizer management, and unified technical services. The super hybrid rice was cultivated in accordance with the "high-quality seeds, good cultivation methods, fertile land, and favorable ecological environment" principle put forward by Academician Yuan Longping.

The overall growth of the super rice in the demonstration area is good. The rice can grow to a certain height and has uniform rice spike, high seed setting rate, and no pest damage and rice lodging. The Hunan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs organized experts from the Hunan Hybrid Rice Research Center, the Hunan Academy of Agricultural Sciences and other units to conduct yield monitoring with mechanical harvesting according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs' super rice yield monitoring and acceptance method.
