Consul General of Cambodia in Chongqing Yos Sokhemrak Visits Changsha

The guests visited the Hunan Gaoqiao International Port and Hunan Export Products Cluster Area, and then attended a symposium on further strengthening Hunan-Cambodia economic and trade exchanges and advancing the "Belt and Road" development. The two sides had in-depth discussions on economic and trade exchanges between China and Cambodia, fully demonstrating the good will of China and Cambodia to jointly build the "Belt and Road" with economic and trade exchanges as the bridge. They also expressed the hope that the Hunan-Cambodia economic and trade cooperation would be elevated to a new level, to further consolidate traditional friendship and deepen comprehensive strategic cooperation between China and Cambodia.

At present, Changsha is fully implementing the strategic positioning and tasks of the "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" Strategy, and striving to implement the Strategy of "Strengthening the Provincial Capital". Changsha has established good economic and trade relations with ASEAN countries including Cambodia. In the first half of 2022, Changsha's imports from and exports to ASEAN countries accounted for 22% of the city's total. More than 50 enterprises from ASEAN countries have invested in Changsha, making tax payments of 500 million yuan in 2020. Since 2021, Changsha has put on record nearly 20 overseas investment projects in ASEAN countries. The total trade value with ASEAN countries constituted 18.5% of the city's total.

Changsha's key enterprises trading with Cambodia include the Hunan Xianglilai Chemical Co., Ltd. and SANY Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Its major imports from and exports to Cambodia include organic chemicals, mechanical and electrical products, and textile yarn. The largest investment project is the Phoenix Industrial Co., Ltd, which is invested by the Hunan Er-Kang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. It is mainly engaged in the manufacturing and sales of modified starch, ethanol, capsule series products, and pharmaceutical intermediates.
