The 2022 Yuanjiang Cultural Tourism Integrated Development Conference and the Fourth Dongting Lake Ecological Cultural Tourism Festival opened by the Haojiang Lake in Yuanjiang on September 17.

Themed "Yuanjiang, a famous county in the south of Dongting Lake", the festival aimed to raise Yuanjiang's profile as a water city. It presented the city's features with beautiful sceneries, cultural tourism resources, ecological environment, and abundant fish and rice. The strategy of building Yuanjiang strong in industry, ecology and culture is being implemented. Efforts have been made to strive to develop Yuanjiang into a core city in Dongting Lake Area.

Six significant events will be hosted during the festival. Other activities will be held to present Yuanjiang and strengthen communication, including the eighth Hunan Language Art Festival, the Dongting Lake Poetry Art Festival, a large live-action show, Yuanjiang mini-marathon, Haojiang Lake fishing contest, Yanzhi Lake beach, music, and beer festival, a food week, and a county sage summit forum.

At the opening ceremony, 13 projects worth 14.88 billion yuan involving cultural tourism, industry, hotels, real estate, and other fields were signed on site.

After the opening ceremony, guests watched water shows, visited a tea cottage, enjoyed cormorant performances, tasted local food, and had fun on the beaches of Yanzhi Lake which is known as "Little Maldives".
