A webinar celebrating the 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between China and Uganda was held on September 15th. The online event was jointly organized by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), the Embassy of Uganda in China, and the Embassy of China in Uganda. Nearly 200 representatives from local governments, friendly and familiar organizations, economic and trade and academic circles from China and Uganda, along with some African diplomatic envoys to China, attended.

CPAFFC Vice President Jiang Jiang, Ugandan Ambassador to China Oliver Wonekha, and Chinese Ambassador to Uganda Zhang Lizhong attended the webinar and delivered speeches, respectively. They reviewed the development history of China-Uganda and China-Africa relations and lauded practical cooperation outcomes between the two countries. They also looked forward to bright prospects for future cooperation and agreed to work together to push bilateral relations to a new level.

Representatives from various sectors of China and Uganda were also invited to the webinar. They shared and exchanged views on such topics as sister-city and people-to-people exchanges, economic and trade cooperation, and academic research.

Changsha established a sister city relationship with Entebbe, Uganda, in 2003. Over the years, the two cities have maintained close exchanges and deepened cooperation in education, economy and trade, culture and tourism, agriculture and other fields, with fruitful results achieved.

The Changsha People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries attended the webinar as a local representative.
