During the 24 hours of September 17, there was one new asymptomatic COVID-19 case reported in Hunan (Xiangtan City) who returned from other province. There were no new asymptomatic cases re-categorized as confirmed ones. There were no new cases out of quarantine. There were 5 people under medical observation (including 3 imported cases).

Between 0:00 on January 1, 2022 and 24:00 on September 17, 2022, a total of 228 confirmed COVID-19 cases (including 63 imported cases) had been reported in Hunan. There were 13 patients hospitalized (including one imported case), and no severe cases. Two hundred and fifteen patients were discharged from hospitals (including 62 imported cases). No people had died.
