On September 13, the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism announced that during this year's Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, 956 tourism units included in the provincial statistics and monitoring system received more than 3.56 million tourist arrivals and achieved an operating revenue of over 465 million yuan.
The data showed that 341 tourist areas included in the monitoring system witnessed more than 3.16 million tourist arrivals and achieved an operating revenue of over 411.6 million yuan. Among them, 792,600 tourist trips were made in 13 national 5A-level scenic spots, bringing in an operating revenue of over 57.7 million yuan. Four hundred and six accommodation units included in the monitoring system received 129,400 visits and gained an operating revenue of nearly 52 million yuan. Ctrip platform said that the Top 5 most popular scenic spots in Hunan during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday are Changsha Tongguan Kiln Ancient Town, Changsha Window on the World, Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park, Shiyan Lake, and Zhangjiajie National Forest Park.
Hunan's tourism industry performed remarkably well nationwide. Changsha ranked third on the Top 10 domestic popular cities list during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday released by Mafengwo. It was also shortlisted in the Top 10 popular cities for surrounding tours in China released by Ctrip. In terms of accommodation, the Qunar platform announced that Changsha ranked sixth among the Top 10 cities in China for most popular homestay reservations, and Loudi ranked fifth among the Top 10 cities for "starry sky" hotel reservations.
Judging from the market situation provincewide, affected by the epidemic, tourists mainly were those returned to their hometowns and from surrounding counties and cities.
