Ding Zhongli, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, chairman of the Central Committee of the China Democratic League, and president of the Western Returned Scholars Association (WRSA) or the Overseas-educated Scholars Association of China, inspected Hunan Province on September 12, 2022.

Zhang Qingwei, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, met with Mr. Ding and his entourage. Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province, attended relevant activities.

The WRSA Overseas Returnees Town (Changsha Intelligent Manufacturing) is the first of its kind officially launched in China. It is committed to developing a hub of advanced manufacturing industry of national importance, with the gathering of high-end overseas talents as the driving force and the intelligent manufacturing as the core orientation. It strives to create a new modern town that is ecologically-friendly, intelligent, dynamic, livable, and suitable for work for overseas returnees and high-level talents.

According to the general idea of "one town governs two areas", the town now has two areas, the Yanghu Pioneering Area and the Daze Lake Core Area. It has arranged 33 supporting infrastructure projects with a total investment of 15.1 billion yuan, and introduced 15 Fortune 500 companies, listed companies, industry-leading projects, and 5,642 returned overseas talents, achieving phased results.

During his stay in Hunan, Mr. Ding also attended the unveiling ceremony of the WRSA Overseas Returnees Town (Changsha Intelligent Manufacturing).

Cao Weixing, vice chairman of the Central Committee of the China Democratic League and vice president of WRSA (Overseas-educated Scholars Association of China), and provincial leaders Wu Guiying, Sui Zhongcheng, Xie Weijiang, Yang Weigang, and Zhang Dafang, joined relevant activities.
