The Exchange Symposium on the Work in Education, Science, Culture and Public Health of the National People's Congress was held in Changsha between September 7 and 8. Arken Imirbaki, vice chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Li Xueyong, chairman of the NPC's Education, Science, Culture and Public Health Committee, presided over the meeting. Zhang Qingwei, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. 

Arken Imirbaki pointed out that in October last year, the CPC Central Committee held a working meeting of the NPC for the first time. General Secretary Xi Jinping attended the meeting and delivered an important speech, which profoundly answered a series of major theoretical and practical questions such as developing socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics in the new era and adhering to and improving the system of people's congresses. Xi comprehensively explained the connotation and essence of the whole-process of people's democracy, which served as the fundamental guideline for the work of the people's congresses in the new era. The NPC's Education, Science, Culture and Public Health Committee  held an exchange symposium in Hunan, which was to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the central conference on work related to the people's congresses, summarize and exchange the achievements and experience of the work in education, science, culture and public health, and study and discuss the situation and tasks faced by the committee, and jointly promote the high-quality development of the NPC's education, science, culture and public health work in the new era.
