CETDZ, Changsha County Hold Mid-Autumn Festival Gathering of International Talents

The Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone (CETDZ) and Changsha County held a gathering of international talents on September 6, to greet the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, which falls on September 10 this year. More than 40 foreign talents and their families from the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Japan, South Africa, and over 70 high-level talents and backbone professionals participated.

Talents and their families gathered together to observe the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival and share development fruits. They felt the beauty of traditional Chinese culture through Hanfu, traditional Chinese paintings, and interactive games. They watched performances such as traditional Chinese dance, China-Africa drum, Chinese martial arts, and songs sung by foreign talent representatives. A strong festive atmosphere was created during the event. Talent certificates and related awards of CETDZ were presented on site.

Fu Xuming, secretary of the CPC Working Committee of CETDZ and secretary of the CPC Changsha County Committee, said that over 200 foreign talents have been attracted to settle down here. We will unswervingly implement the Strategy of "Strengthening Zones and Counties Through Talents" in the new era, and introduce "1+1+N" talent policies including the New Century National Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Talents Project. In the next five years, we will spend 1.5 billion yuan to attract talents and provide them with all-round support in housing purchase, medical care for their parents, employment for their spouses and school enrollment for their children. We will improve and strengthen the International Talent Entrepreneurship and Innovation Park and the National Human Resource Service Export Base; accelerate the construction of "One Town, Two Ports and Three Centers" and Songya Lake International Science Town; provide a broad platform for international talents to innovate and start businesses; and, improve supporting facilities such as apartments for international talents. We will create a "strong magnetic field" for talents with the greatest sincerity, the best policy and the best service.

In recent years, the total number of talents in Changsha has climbed from 1.1 million in 2017 to 2.8 million in 2021. The ranking of the city's talent attraction index has risen to the 10th in China and the first in central China.
