Zhang Qingwei, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, and Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province, met in Changsha with Chen Gang, secretary of the CPC Leadership Group, vice chairman, and first secretary of the Secretariat of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) on the afternoon of September 1, 2022. Secretary Zhang, on behalf of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Hunan Province, welcomed the guests and thanked ACFTU and other central ministries and commissions for their concern and support to Hunan. He introduced that Hunan is currently studying and implementing the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important speeches, directives, and instructions on Hunan Province, and fully carrying out the positioning, missions, and tasks of the "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" Strategy. Industrial workers have played a significant role in the development of the manufacturing industry, and the ranks of high-quality industrial workers have continued to grow. He expected ACFTU and other central ministries and commissions will continue to care about and support Hunan; guide Hunan to deepen the reform of industrial workers cultivation; assist Hunan in strengthening the training of skilled craftsmen; and, provide talent support for Hunan to build itself into an important national advanced manufacturing hub.

Secretary Chen thanked the Hunan provincial Party committee and the provincial government for their attention and support to the work of the trade unions. He remarked that Hunan has actively explored and made important progress in promoting the reform of the construction of the industrial workforce, adding that the trade union organizations at all levels in Hunan Province should thoroughly implement President Xi Jinping's important expositions on the working class and the work of trade unions; vigorously promote the spirit of model workers, hard work, and craftsmanship; and, deepen the reform to train industrial workers.

Leaders of relevant central ministries and commissions including Ma Lu, Sun Yao, Du Rui, and Yan Xiaoming, and provincial leaders Li Dianxun, Xie Weijiang, Zhou Nong, and Chen Fei, joined the meeting.
