Governor Mao Meets with Guests Attending the 2022 Hunan International General Aviation Industry Expo

The 2022 Hunan International General Aviation Industry Expo opened in Changsha on August 31. The Hunan Provincial People's Government held a work meeting in Changsha on the evening of August 31. Guests attending the expo were invited to discuss about the development of the general aviation industry. Dong Li, deputy commander of Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force, and Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province, attended and made speeches.

Provincial leaders Li Dianxun and Chen Fei; Wang Yanqi, deputy commander of Southern Theater Command; Wu Yansheng, president of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation; He Dongfeng, chairman of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd.; Chinese Academy of Engineering academicians Liu Daxiang and Chen Zhijie; and, Deng Qunce, secretary-general of the Hunan Provincial People's Government, attended.

Dong Li said that Hunan is China's first pilot province to carry out the reform of low-altitude airspace management. Hunan has resolutely shouldered its political responsibility for the pilot reform. In accordance with the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the requirements of the pilot program, the pilot work achieved remarkable results. The expo is a window for Hunan to display the outcomes of the reform of low-altitude airspace management, and an "air bridge" between the general aviation industry and the general public. The Air Force will continue to support Hunan's low-altitude airspace management reform and make its due efforts for local development.

Mao Weiming welcomed all the guests and briefed them on the economic and social development of Hunan Province. He said that in recent years, Hunan has actively seized the opportunities brought by the reform of low-altitude airspace management and accumulated exemplary experience. The first Hunan (International) General Aviation Industry Expo was successfully held. Infrastructure of the general aviation industry is improving. The vitality of market players increases.

Governor Mao added that at present, Hunan has more than 40 general aviation enterprises, and 61 approved general airport sites. In the first half of this year, the province's general aviation flights exceeded 100,000, a year-on-year increase of 267%. Mr. Mao said that Hunan is striving to build itself into a hub of advanced manufacturing industry of national importance, a hub of technological innovation with core competitiveness, and a hub of reform and opening up in inland regions. Hunan will leverage the expo to further deepen pilot reform results, build an optimal general aviation airport network, establish a superior general aviation industry development pattern, explore good low-altitude management models, and provide better flight services. He hoped that all parties will continue to support Hunan, strengthen synergy between industry, academia, research, and application, and help Hunan build a leading domestic and internationally renowned general aviation province.
