2022 China New Media Conference Opens in Changsha

The 2022 China New Media Conference opened in Changsha on the morning of August 30. Zhang Qingwei, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, and He Ping, president of the All-China Journalists Association attended and delivered speeches. Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan, attended. Niu Yibing, deputy director of the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission and deputy director of the Cyberspace Administration of China, delivered a speech. Liu Siyang, vice president of the All-China Journalists Association and secretary of its leading Party members group, presided over the conference. Zhu Guoxian, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, was present.

Hunan Provincial leaders Li Dianxun, Wu Guiying, Xie Weijiang, Yang Haodong; Zeng Yan, Standing Committee member and Publicity Department director of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee; Wang Yibiao, deputy editor-in-chief of People's Daily; and, Zhou Zongmin, deputy editor-in-chief of Xinhua News Agency and member of its leading Party members group, attended. Changsha municipal leaders Zheng Jianxin, Chen Peng and Liu Yongbing also attended.

The China New Media Conference has been held for three sessions. This year's conference is guided by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, the National Radio and Television Administration, and the People's Government of Hunan Province, and jointly sponsored by the All-China Journalists Association and the Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee. Themed "New Mainstream, New Journey", the conference focuses on welcoming, publicizing, and implementing the main theme of the 20th CPC National Congress, fully demonstrating the achievements of integrated media development since the 18th CPC National Congress, and guiding the new media industry to create a sound public opinion atmosphere for the convening of the 20th CPC National Congress.

An activity aimed at soliciting and displaying fine examples of integration and innovation in news coverage about the 20th CPC National Congress was launched at the opening ceremony. A forum was held afterwards. Leaders including Wang Yibiao, Zhou Zongmin, Liu Xiaolong, Wu Guiying, Zhang Huali, Li Yun, Li Jianyan, Chen Rui, and Zhou Yuan and heads of media platforms made keynote speeches.

A short video titled "Malanshan Time" was broadcast at the conference. A plaque-conferring ceremony for the Xuexi Qiangguo (a learning platform) "Red Video" production base was held. China's ten innovative explorations in the integrated media development, and the 2022 Video Cultural and Creative Industry Development Index were released.
