The 14th Hunan Provincial Games will be held from Sept. 8 to Sept. 18 in Yueyang City. Before its opening, Yueyang held a series of activities to promote its rich cultural tourism resources with Yueyang Tower Tourist Area as the focus. These brilliant activities attracted many residents and tourists.  

On July 25, ribbons of light shined at Yueyang Tower in the night.

On July 28, the Dongting Lake Water Park in Junshan District became an ideal place to cool off for residents.

On August 5, people were crowded around a gate tower in Yueyanglou District.

On August 5, Dongting Fishing Song, an intangible cultural heritage item, was performed on Dongting South Road, Yueyang Historic and Cultural Neighborhood.

On August 5, Bianhe Street in front of the square of Yueyang Tower was ablaze with lights and thronged with tourists.

On August 10, singing and dancing performances were staged at the Yueyang Port Archaeological Park.

On August 10, a riverbank football pitch in Yueyanglou District became a new venue for sports fans.

On August 17, ribbons of light shined in the Dongtinghu Town in Nanhu New Area.
