Zhang Qingwei, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, and head of the Leading Group on Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality of Hunan Province, chaired the 2022 plenary session of the leading group on the afternoon of August 17.

He asked to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important exposition on carbon peak and carbon neutrality; firmly establish the philosophy that clean waters and green mountains are just as valuable as gold and silver; put the "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" work in a more prominent position; and, shoulder Hunan's responsibility and make Hunan's contributions to achieving the goals of "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality".

Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province, and also head of the Leading Group on Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality of Hunan Province, attended.

Provincial leaders Li Dianxun, Xie Weijiang, Chen Fei, and Li Jianzhong attended.
