Secretary Zhang Meets with CASC Chairman Wu

Zhang Qingwei, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, met in Changsha with Wu Yansheng, chairman of the Board of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), on the afternoon of August 10, 2022.


Secretary Zhang, on behalf of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Hunan Province, welcomed Chairman Wu and his entourage, and thanked CASC for its long-term strong support to Hunan. He noted that Hunan is now thoroughly studying and implementing the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important speeches, directives, and instructions on Hunan Province; comprehensively fulfilling the positioning, missions, and tasks of the "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" Strategy; and, striving to build a new modern socialist Hunan in all respects.

Hunan is a key area being included in the layout of the aerospace industry in China, he said, hoping that the two sides will strengthen exchanges and cooperation in such fields as scientific and technological innovation, industrial cooperation, and aerospace technology application, and jointly make new contributions to the development of China's aerospace industry. Hunan will, as always, provide support and guarantee for CASC's development in Hunan, he added.


Chairman Wu thanked Hunan for its care and support to CASC. He promised to further consolidate the existing cooperation foundation, deepen and expand cooperation fields, better serve the high-quality development of Hunan, and jointly boost China's strength in space.


Provincial leaders Li Dianxun, Xie Weijiang, Chen Fei, and Wang Yi'ou, and Tian Hongqi, president of the Central South University, attended.
