On August 9, Hunan Province announced the list of pilot areas and counties (county-level cities) for the national demonstration zone for the comprehensive reform of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Six cities including Changsha City and nine counties (county-level cities) including Xiangxiang County-level City were selected. The selected areas will make breakthroughs and drive the high-quality development of TCM in the province, and strive to accumulate experience that can be replicated and promoted in the province and even the whole country.

In accordance with the relevant requirements of the "Implementation Plan for the Construction of National Demonstration Zone for Comprehensive Reform of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Hunan Province", the Office of the Hunan Provincial TCM Work Coordination Group organized and carried out the application and evaluation work of the pilot areas and counties (county-level cities) of the national demonstration zone for comprehensive reform of TCM in Hunan Province.

Changsha, Hengyang, Zhuzhou, Shaoyang, Yiyang, and Huaihua cities have been granted approval by the Hunan government for establishing pilot areas for the national demonstration zone for the comprehensive reform of TCM in Hunan Province.

Xiangtan's Xiangxiang City, Yueyang's Linxiang City, Changde's Linli County, Zhangjiajie's Cili County, Chenzhou's Anren County and Jiahe County, Yongzhou's Jianghua Yao Autonomous County, Loudi's Xinhua County, and Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture's Baojing County have been approved to be established as pilot counties (county-level cities) for national demonstration zone for the comprehensive reform of TCM in Hunan Province.

The Hunan Provincial TCM Work Coordination Group urged all pilot areas and counties (county-level cities) to thoroughly implement the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on promoting the inheritance, innovation and development of TCM, and focus on the implementation of the positioning, missions, and tasks of the "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" Strategy. In accordance with the requirements of the Implementation Plan, efforts will be made to strengthen organizational leadership, give full play to comparative advantages, deepen the reform of systems and mechanisms, promote the high-quality development of TCM and industries, and strive to create replicable and popularized experience.
