Secretary Zhang stated that, the past decade after the 18th CPC National Congress is of milestone significance in the cause of the Party and the country, and extraordinary in Hunan’s history of reform and development. President Xi Jinping inspected Hunan Province three times, and attended the deliberation of the Hunan delegation during the fourth session of the 12th National People’s Congress. His instructions on giving full play to Hunan’s advantageous geological location at the transitional “belt” and junction “zone”, targeted poverty alleviation, “Three Focuses”, and protecting the Yangtze River, especially the positioning, missions, and tasks of the "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" Strategy, pointed out the direction and mapped out a blueprint for the cause of Hunan development.

Over the past decade, Hunan has adhered to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and thoroughly implemented the spirits of his speeches and instructions made when inspecting Hunan. Hunan government has united and led the people of all ethnic groups across the province to forge ahead with Xi’s instructions in mind. We have effectively dealt with the major challenges such as fighting against the COVID-19 epidemic, and flood prevention and disaster relief. We’ve been taking concerted efforts to build a new modern socialist Hunan, strive to put the blueprint into realization, and make achievements recognized by the Party and satisfied by the people.

Secretary Zhang introduced Hunan’s achievements made since the 18th CPC National Congress based on detailed statistics, substantial cases, and pragmatic measures.
